Guerlain celebrates 170 years of the bee bottle
Journal du luxe
On the occasion of the 170th anniversary of its famous bottle with bees, Guerlain unveils an unprecedented photographic exhibition completed by the creation of a unique fragrance in a case adorned with gold and crystals.
For this exhibition presented in the Guerlain boutique on the Champs Elysées, 11 female artists have been chosen to highlight this symbol. Among them, Jane Evelyn Atwood, Valérie Belin, Delfina Carmona, Delphine Diallo, Charlotte Rampling, Su Kui, ORLAN, Almudena Romero, Myriam Roerhi, Christine Spengler, and the French actress Audrey Tautou who here reveals her hidden talent for photography.
The brand has approached designer Nadine Kanso in particular , who has signed a creation that looks like a piece of jewelry. Here, the artist exploits the art of calligraphy, covering the bottle with the word "Love" in Arabic and covered with 1710 Swarovski crystals.
Available in 30 numbered and signed copies, this anniversary bottle called "Rêve d'amour" required no less than 12 hours of work by hand. A work in its own right that houses an equally original fragrance since Guerlain has created a unique fragrance celebrating white flowers such as neroli, jasmine and ylang-ylang, enhanced by notes of cedar, ambrette and benzoin.
